Hi, I’m Lou! A British-Nigerian content creator, podcast host and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion professional based between London and Hong Kong.
After moving to Hong Kong in 2018 with my corporate job, I got the chance to discover and explore a new city and continent – a real treat given my love for food, travel and culture.
I also experienced first-hand the various realities of being Black in Asia – the joy of community, but also the frustratingly inaccurate misconceptions and bias we face daily. This led to the genesis of the podcast HomeGrown, co-hosted with my friend Fo, where we talk with Black expats in Hong Kong and other cities to share different perspectives on the Black experience in Asia. And in November 2021 I took to the stage of TEDxWomenTinHau to talk about racial inequality in Hong Kong and the importance of curiosity and conversation in shifting the culture.
I’m learning and sharing as I go, and finding moments of joy along the way!
