Dinner at Coppa Club

Every week I like to try a new restaurant or experience. Last week it was Coppa Club in Tower Bridge, best known for its Igloos (bubble-like sheltered seating areas outside the restaurant). It came highly recommended by one of my friends so I was keen to see what the fuss was about.
They don’t take same-day reservations for the igloos on Thursdays but they do leave some spots available for walk-ins. Sadly by the time my friend and I got there (around 9pm), there was well over an hour’s wait so we took a table inside instead.
For starters we ordered the crab bruschetta, chorizo sausages and calamari which were all quite tasty.
Mains were the rib eye with truffle cream for me and half chicken for my friend with chips and root vegetables on the side. Steak was a massive gamble for me as I generally don’t eat steak at any restaurant that’s not an “official” steakhouse but I was very pleasantly surprised. My dinner partner generally isn’t too fussy so enjoyed his chicken. The veg on the other hand was just not it AT ALL. Admittedly, I’m not the biggest fan of vegetables in general but these were soaked in oil and waaaayyyyy too salty. I won’t hold it against them though, as everything else was great.
We were way too full for dessert so skipped that to sit in the igloos for a while instead (and take some pictures of course!)
We also walked along the water for a while enjoying the evening breeze. I would say that was the key selling point of this restaurant – a great view of The Shard across the water on one side, and Tower Bridge on the other!

The verdict
Coppa Club is a great spot if you can get an igloo, especially if the weather is good. Good vibes, decent food and very reasonably priced.
